Additional 1/2 day Theory Home Study
In a relaxed and friendly atmosphere we provide our students with the knowledge, technique and the confidence to work as a ‘Makeup Artist.’ Working with your model you will learn how to apply an everyday makeup, subtle evening makeup, and a natural bridal look.
Students who successfully complete the 'Foundation Makeup Training' have the confidence and skills to embark on an exciting career as a professional makeup artist, providing future clients with an excellent beauty, special occassion and bridal makeup service.
No prior experience is required to attend the 'Foundation Makeup Training'. This makeup class is suitable for the complete beginner to students wanting to brush up their existing makeup skills.

COURSE INCLUDES
A brief history of makeup.
Life as a makeup artist.
Health & safety. Sterilizing procedures.
Client consultation. Contra-indications.
Maning your makeup station.
Facial anatomy, skin types, working with different face shapes, skin tones and colours.
Skin preparation, colour wheel, product use.
Makeup application: colour correcting using concealer, foundation, blending blusher, highlighting, shading, bronzer, the application of powder amd cream eye-shadows, mascara, eyeliner, lip definition & lipstick application.
Fit lash strips & individual lashes.
Design the look you want while satisfying the client's expectations.
What you need in a professional makeup kit.
Building a compprehensive makeup portfolio.
Full course notes provided.
We encourage students to bring in a camera to take photographs of their work.
Each student is required to sit a written test, demonstrate proficiency in makeup application, and complete four hours of home study to receive an ‘Accredited Certificate'.

Two Day Course: 9.30 to 4 pm
Day 1 – Makeup Studio - Theory, practical session and assessment
Day 2 – Makeup Studio - Theory, practical session and assessment
1/2 day - Home Study
Review session (non-compulsory)
This is a non-compulsory aspect of your course, and should be viewed as on-going support and problem solving session. These sessions are run on a regular basis and need to be pre-booked.
Home Study
Students are given learning materials to be read & reference websites to be visited & explored. Students should complete a number of makeup applications on friends or family.
