Is there an age limit?
No, we welcome students of all ages (16+) and all levels of experience.
Are your Diploma courses accredited?
Yes, all our Diploma courses are approved and accredited by The Guild of Beauty Therapists, which means you can obtain insurance once successfully completed. This insurance will allow you to legally trade and work within these areas in the industry.
Do you recommend an insurance company?
Yes, we recommend the Guild of Beauty Therapists and on successful completion of the course the Guild will give you a £10 off voucher for insurance.
Do I need to complete the course to get my certificate?
Yes each part of the course theory, practical and the written test needs to be completed before awarded a certificate.
Where are you based?
The Makeup Box Studio is based in Balcombe, West Sussex – which is ideal for one to one makeup training. For larger classes up to four students our class room is located in Maidenbower, Crawley, West Sussex.
Do you offer mobile makeup training?
Yes we have a mobile training unit who will travel to your workplace for one to one makeup training and makeup workshops. There is an additional travel fee for this service based on millage.
What days and times are the courses?
The course days and times do vary. Makeup training is available during the day time and weekends, all scheduled makeup training programmes are on the makeup class timetable page of the website.
Do I need to pay a deposit
To book a place on a makeup course you need to pay a £60 deposit.
How do I pay for the course?
Using PayPal through the makeup box studo.com website select the course and date of your choice to your basket and work through the payment process. You can add multiple courses to your basket. Alternatively you can pay by online bank transfer or cheque. Payment in full must be made two weeks before the start date of your makeup class.
Do you have a payment plan?
Pay for your makeup class fees in an interest free payment plan, no credit checks and no hidden charges. An initial payment of £60 is taken at the time of booking a makeup course, this will guarantee you a place. The following payments will be due on a monthly basis. The payment amounts are chosen by you, on a schedule to suit your needs.
If you would like to spread the payments over several months then you need to telephone to arrange this. As long as the balance is paid two weeks before the start date of the makeup class we are happy to take the payments over as many months as required.
Can I book alternative dates to your course dates?
Unlike most schools, we can be flexible with our dates and our courses run throughout the year. If you have specific dates in mind that will suit you better than the advertised makeup class dates, let us know!
Do you cancel classes due to lack of attendance?
We do not like to cancel courses so if you are the only student booked on the course we will complete your course with a one to one session with your tutor, although we ask you to bring a model with you and you will possibly finish earlier.
Do I need to bring anything with me?
All equipment will be supplied on the foundation course. Students are advised to bring their makeup kits for the airbrush makeup classes.
Refreshments are included during your course, along with a light lunch for full day courses. However if you have special dietary requirements then we recommend you bring your own lunch. We provide a light lunch for the models.
Do I need to bring a model?
One to one makeup courses require you to bring a model during the course. If you are unable to find a model please let us know, and we may be able to find one for you. However if we have to book a model there is an additional £40 charge for this.
What is the review day and do I have to attend?
The review morning is optional, designed to offer you on going support and guidance should you require it. The morning will be spent working on your model (who you will supply) Your tutor would oversee the treatment and offer you advice on how to improve.
